The Government of Ghana recently unveiled a mobile app named “MyNHIS App” to simplify the registration and renewal process of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS).
This new platform allows Ghanaians to use their Ghana cards to sign up for the NHIS at their convenience. Additionally, existing NHIS members can easily renew their membership using the app.
The app offers secure payment options for registration and renewal through mobile money wallets, banks, and Visa cards.
It’s worth noting that the MyNHIS App is accessible on both Android and iOS smartphones.
How To Sign Up On The “MyNHIS App”.
- Visit the Google Play Store or App Store to download the “MyNHIS App”.
- Launch the app.
- Tap on “Don’t have an account? Sign Up”.
- Enter your details to sign up, and check the box below to agree to “MyNHIS App’s terms & privacy policy”.
- Click on Continue.
- Enter the OTP sent to the number you registered with.
- Done.
After successfully confirming your OTP, you will be shown a dashboard to register or renew NHIS. However, before you can use the services on the app, you will be required to create a profile with your Ghana Card details.
How To Create A Profile On MyNHIS App With Your Ghana Card.
- After completing the sign up process, tap on “Please create profile” on the dashboard.
- Enter the details of your Ghana card then tap “Next”.
- Now select the nearest NHIS District Office around your area and tap “Next” to verify.
- You will receive a pop up message stating “Congrats. Your Ghana Card and NHIS Membership are Linked”.
- Done.
After your profile has been created, all the services will be activated on the app screen. You can now Register, Renew, and Link cards with MyNHIS App.
How To Renew Your NHIS Membership.
- On the dashboard, scroll down and click on “Renew”.
- Click on Next.
- On the Membership Renewal page, select “Renew for myself”. If you’re unable to select “Renew for myself”, then select “Renew for another person” then enter your Ghana Card Number and your Phone Number.
- Now click “Next”.
- The next page displays details such as renewal duration, payment amount, and coverage provided by the insurance.
- Verify if every detail is correct then click on “PAY NOW”.
- You’ll be redirected to a Payment Page.
- Select your preferred payment method.
- Enter your details and click on “PAY”
- Done.
NOTE: This app can be used to renew the NHIS status of others as well.
